'You Are Here' is a sextet formed by saxophonist Kevin Figes to perform the music of the vital Bristolian improvising and composing pianist Keith Tippett (1947-2020) and his comrades, including Elton Dean, Harry Miller, Dudu Pukwana, the Dedication Orchestra and King Crimson.
The sextet played a brilliant debut concert in February at the Bristol Beacon, followed by a very successful gig at Wakefield Jazz. Since then, they have been in the studio to record the Elton Dean's Ninesense tune 'Seven for Lee' and Keith Tippett's 'Green and Orange Night Park' which will be released this summer.
Tonight will be a joyous celebration of the music and influence of Keith Tippett and an invigorating journey into the unique sounds of British Jazz in the 1970s
